- If you like the way you can rent movies from within the app do not install this build!
- Apple is forcing us to remove the ability to rent a movie from within the app in the full version. This build will forward you to Redbox’s web site to complete the credit card transaction (you can still rent movies though). According to apple in-app purchases are not allowed, despite a pile of examples to the contrary.
- Inside Redbox Mobile Ad Hoc Ver 1.0 G 03/10/09 (new)
- Removed rent button from free app
Installation Instructions
It is no longer necessary to upgrade your phone to iPhone OS 2.2.1 before installing the app, we are now using a binary that is compatible with OS 2.1 and above.

Testing Notes:
- The first time you launch the application it will take a little longer to startup as it will have to perform various initialization procedures. Subsequent launches should be much faster.
- After the first launch of the application a background thread will start fetching all the DVD artwork as well as DVD info for current DVD’s within the redbox system. On a 3G connection it takes about 5 minutes for this thread to load all the images and DVD info (the actual size of memory that these images occupy is quite trival, < 20 MB). Until this thread completes, you may experience choppy scrolling. If you close the app and restart it before the thread completes, it will pick up where it left off on the next application launch until eventually all the images have been loaded. After this thread has completed, scrolling should be smooth upon all subsequent launches of the application.
- All credit card information is posted over SSL to the redbox web site. Renting a movie through the Inside Redbox Mobile application is just as safe as renting a movie from the redbox website. If you do not feel comfortable renting a movie with the Inside Redbox Mobile application, that’s fine, just hit the back button when you get to the rental page.

When you the sync the app. in itunes. It will not install because it can’t be verified. So simply just turn off the internet connect and it will install.

I used it for the first time the other day and it worked great. I just tried a few min ago and when i searched for a location. The map starts to loads then the app. shuts down.Tried again numerous times and it does the same.I tried posting this on the page they said too but the forum is closed.Plus who wants to do math, not every one loves crunching numbers. One more thing it would be nice for the app to have trailers for the movies .That way you dont have to go to another site or app just to see what the movie is about.

Redbox locations that I know are there, are not showing up in the Locations section of the app.

iHock: try zooming in one level and centering the map on the location where the redbox should be and touch the refresh button. I might have to update the app so it starts out by displaying the map one more level zoomed in.

How can i reply on the forum if the comments are always closed! I installed the newest update but the same results.First i looked for locations it showed three. Then i clicked on a movie and said find.It said there was no locations try zooming yada yada yada.I did nothing..So i figured that maybe the movie wasn’t available yet since its a new release. So i select another and find crashes wtf!!!

its not crashing anymore, for now but its real sluggish. Also when your in settings and you hit reset data.It will not cancel. You have to close the app completely or hit reset. And now it wont open at all it just crashes.Lets try for a 3rd time. There it goes but it seems to be frozen.Crashed again.and again.and again.its loaded but its froze again.Crashed again..tired of messing with it hope it gets fixed soon.
